I have a vertical tank 24 meter in length and 5.7 meter diameter with shell thickness 14 mm.
I have to tranport it from the factory to the barge. for the transportation. we will transport
it horizontally and hence require wooden saddle for its support. Its total weight is 150 ton.

I need to calculate the no. of wooden saddles required for its support. If some one can help
me with the calculation of the no. of wooden saddles required and the exact point (distance
from centre) that it can be placed below the tank.. How to calculate the buckling
stress / maximum bending stress that the tank can withsand.

Please help me with the calculation of it.

YOU MAY REFER THE CALCULATIONS SPECIFIED FOR
CONTINUOUS BEAM (BEAM HAVING MORE THAN 2 SUPPORTS) IN ANY STRENGTH OF MATERIAL BOOK.

YOU CAN ASSUME INITIALLY 4-5 SUPPORTS & DO THE CALCULATIONS BASED ON THE FORMULAE GIVEN FOR CONTINUOUS BEAM.
