dear Freinds,

Please let me know "what is simulated post weld heat treatment in the pressure vessel columns"? and why it is required?

I am working on few Pressure vessels columns and these columns are having PWHT and our client is requesting us to provide Simulated PWHT for 3 cycles so please confirm why it is required? and why our client is going for 3 cycles?

Simulation PWHT is Total PWHTcycle by which equipment can under go during it's entire life. Simulation PWHT is performed on test piece, which represent the vessel. purpose to perform Simulation PWHT is to ensure property of material after Total PWHT Cycle. As, studies have shown that property of material gets deteriorated after long PWHT. Hence, to ensure the applicability, simulation PWHT to be performed. Three number of cycle are as follows: one cycle for fabrication at shop, one for repair at shop & one for future repair
