Case:
Ring flange of 40mm thickness for DN500 manhole is machined from SA-240 304L plate. Ring flange is taken in two or three segments then butt welded together.
question 1:
what kind of testing (D & ND) is to be carried out (mandatory or supplementary)?
question 2:
Is solution annealing required in this case?
Kindly respond urgently.

Requirements of Appendix 20 are not applicable in your case, since it is a ring flange.

Read UHA-108 for the additional fabrication tests required if the vessel is in corrosive service, this para. is applicable to austinitic chromium nickle steel as SA-240-304L is.

PWHT is neither required not prohibited in you case, but if you perform PWHT due to any reason then RT shall be performed after PWHT as per UHA-33(c).

In your case Liquid Penetrant Examination is mandatory requirement as per UHA-33.

if MDMT is -196C and warmer impact test of base metal and HAZ not required otherwise check as per UHA-51.

Full RT is required in your case as per UW-11(a)(2).

I do not see any requirement of solution annealing in your case.
