Hi,

ASME STS-1'2006 clause 4.4.1 shows way to calculate compressive stresses but there is no formula for t/D>10*Fy/E.
To understand this I have run PVElite file for stack in that for combined stresses section it shows same stresses for node having t/D>10*Fy/E though they are with diff dia & thickness. as there is no such formulae/guideline of limiting compressive stress cal for t/D>10*Fy/E , so it is exactly not clear.
Is there is any limiting stress condition for t/D>10*Fy/E.
I prepared XL sheet for allowable compressive stress calculation.For t/D>10*Fy/E, I have considerd Ks=0 & calculated allowable compressive.

Please Guide.

There is a software STACKDES in which many codes for stack design are included, STS-1 is one of them.
Try this software.
