Dear all,

Our customer is requiring to build vessels with steel 2101 and steel 2205. I can find the material specification from web that these material have uns number as S32101 and S32205, but I could not find these material either at section II or at section IX. Can we use these material to build vessel per ASME? Thank you. I am looking forward to hearing your earliest reply.

Wish you all the best

Jeff

2205 is UNS S31803 (often dual-certified as S32205) and listed in UHA-23.
2101 is allowed by Code Case 2418-1.
Hope this helps

S32205 is one kind of S31803,but if the material certefication only show S32205 , AI can't accepte that ,because they can't find S32205 in code,so you need somebody to verify S32205 is the same material as S31803.

There's a new code case 2637 allowing the use of S32205.
