Dear All,

I have been trying to look into a lot of litreture in order to find the yield strength of Aluminum 6061-T6 welded joints.
I need this information in order to design the thickness of material plus I cannot post heat treat the alloy.

Offcourse that when welding 6061-T6 the yield strnegth in the joint reduces.
The quesiton is how much? Does it come to T0 condition? T4?

Does the ASME pressure vessel code have the answers? if so, where?

have a look to ASME IID, table 1B e.g. plate 1.30 - 6.34 mm:
SA 209 UNS A96061 T6: Min. Tensile Strength 290 MPa
SA 209 UNS A96061 T6 welded: Min. Tensile Strength 165 MPa (same value as T4 welded)
There is no value for Yield Strength after welding.

Is there any other source for the yield values?
