Tell! Whether there is a necessity to add at calculation of a demanded thickness of a nozzle the THICKNESSES TOLERANCE of a pipe?
Whether it is possible to neglect the THICKNESSES TOLERANCE of a pipe?
Material: SA-333.

Hi,

acc. to UG-16(d) the manufacturing undertolerance on wall thickness shall be taken into account, if pipe is ordered by its nominal wall thickness except for nozzle wall reinforcement area requirements in accordance with UG-37 and UG-40.
That means acc. to SA-333 with reference to SA-999, para 10 you have to consider a undertolerance of max. 12.5% of the nominal wall thickness.

Thanks!

Tell! At me minimum required thickness = 0,6 mm
+ THICKNESSES TOLERANCE 12,5 % (0,075 mm) =
0,6 + 0,075 = 0,675 mm
+ corrosion allowance (3mm)
0,675+3 = 3,675 mm - minimum wall thickness

Per ASME B36.10 I accept a thickness – 8,74 mm (therefore as a thickness of the case of a vessel – 10 mm)

This solution correct?
