according to UG-11, "when the prefabricated or preformed parts are furnished with a nameplate, and the nameplate interferes with further fabrication or service, and where stamping on the material is prohibited, the manufacturer, with the concurrence of the authorized inspector, may remove the nameplate".
my question is: if the nameplate interfere with further fabrication, but it is not prohibited to be stamped, then, could the nameplate be removed without stamping?if not, could the nameplate be replaced with stamping? and if the part supplier is not available to conduct stamping, could the vessel manufacturer to conduct the transfer from nameplate to stamping?
thanks to you all for your reply!
The Manufacturer of the complete item, once the AI has ensured himself that the part correspond to the Partial MDR, and authorized, may remove Part stamping or nameplate. The Partial MDR for the part supplied is recorded on MDR of the complete item. There is no need that the Part stamping remains. It may happen that the part stamping is completely hidden or defaced during further processing of the complete item.
