I NEED INTERPRETATION OF FOLLOWING CODE SENTENCE :
COULD ANY BODYHELP ME?

REFER UG 34 (d)
DESCRIPTION FOR SKETCHES (e),(f),(g) .

If value of m less than 1 is used in calculating t the shell thickness ts shall be maintained along a distance inwardely from the inside face of the head equal to at least 2 under root d ts.

If shell nominal thickness is greater than that required for seamless shell, the value of m shall be less than 1, the attachment factor C for sketches (e), (f) and (g) shall be less than 0.33 but in no case be less than 0.2.
When value of m is less than 1 that means you are taking advantage of the extra thickness available in the shell in the form of reducing the attachment factor C, so in return of that you will maintain the thickness ts of the shell to a certain distance from the inside surface of the unstayed flat head, that distance is at least 2*sqrt (ts). If you cannot maintain ts in that specific reigon, then you cannot take advantage of reduced factor m, in that case you will put m=1.
Hope it helps, if you still not clear please let me know.

THANKS SIR.

I concluded that for fig. e & g shell to be extended beyond outer side of flat head. This will be similar arrangement to that shown in fig.f

The shell length to be extended is to be calculated by formula 2squre root d x ts.

is it correct?

Amol,

You are not understanding still what I mean to say.
You need not to extend the shell from the outside surface of the flat head.
You have to maintain the thickness ts to a distance 2*sqrt(d*ts) inwardly not outwardly.
Did you get?
