Hello.

I am trying to find out the importance/significance of E1 used in the Nomenclature of UG-37. How to we arrive at it?

E1 is the assumed efficiency of the plate (E1=100%) for the purpose of calculating the plate thk in way of an opening and consequently the material available for compensation.
Efficiency would be lower as 85% when the opening is in a ERW pipe
