Dear Members,

I need advice regarding below matter.
As per my understanding on UG-80(a)(1), the difference between the maximum and minimum inside diameters at any cross section shall not exceed 1% of the nominal diameter at the cross section under consider.
But in my case, we measured and found that the differential is exceed than 1%. I can’t found a solution in ASME for this case. Need to be re-roll, repair or what.? Could anyone advice us.

Kindly, you all prompt respond are appreciated.

Thank you.

It is practical decision
- Out of roundness is due to self weight then provide proper Suports
- Out of roundness is due to Improper Pre pinching- Then Re roll shell
- Out of roundness is due to poor control of machine on plate then Cut all tack and re roll

Code will not provide you solution but you need to adhere the 1% Limit to meet the specification .

If coded vessel AI will not allow.

Dear Mr. Niraj,

Vessel already 100% finish (all nozzle already welded), we found this issue during final inspection. So, in this regard, impossible to re-roll.

you have any idea?

Thank you.

If acceptable, Consider providing Spider (Stiffeners) to control ovality. If the vessel is not Stress Relieved and Hydrotested, consider welding stiffeners.
