Dear all
Some clients suggest that SCF from WRC-107 shall be used while applying WRC-297.
But as clearly stated in para 2 of WRC-107 itself and as stated in Appendix-B of WRC-107, multiplying with these Stress Concentration Factors results in peak stresses which can be used in fatigue evaluation if required (Say Sec VIII Div 2 case)

For stress limits on PL+Pb+Q (3 S or 2 sigma Y), I feel that SCF given in WRC 107 (Kn and Kb) should not be used. If used, we will end up with overdesign.

1. Can any one of you comment on this view?

2. Is there any necessary to use these SCF when fatigue is not to be evaluated?

Thanking You in advance

With regards
