how to define criteria for visual examination, according to ASME III, class 1,2 and 3 component?
Castings, forgings, plates, welds?
I don't find any paragraph about this controle in the section NB.

In Class 1, the examination of Materials is addressed in NB-2500. Examination of welds in NB-5000, and inspection of welds in NB-4000.
In neither of these, VT is an NDE method, and Section V is not referenced by NB, NC, ND.

Consequently the personnel is not qualified as NDE, but as Inspection and Test Personnel.

good point, for Supports (NF) VT is an NDE method, just like for Class 1 bolting materials small diameter.
