I came across the hole that appears in the picture quite often on various welded joint. I believe this as a crater hole which is at the end of the weld junction , which is not filled. Am i right . And can anyone suggest solution for this.

You are correct. During the welding process when the welder withdrew the weld rod it created a what the welder called it a pin hole.

leem is correct, this is a pin hole caused by entrapped gas. This is quite common but the welder or inspector should have caught this defect before painting.

This one pin hole can be filled by simply adding weld directly to it with FCAW process.
