Dear Reader
As Per Section 1X Article 322 for the renewal of Welder Qualification the noted duration is 6 month and it is mentioned that welder performance expires only if he is not doing the process in that duration and if the process he is doing is different. My Question is what if the welders are doing the same process continously without renwal for a period of more than one year. Does the WPQ expires or is it sufficient to prove that they are doing the process continously by means of Welding Inspection report.
Thank You

azar,

As long as the welder is using the same process for which he is qualified then his qualification remain valid.

If the welder who has been qualified previously, but has not welded in the past 6 months, the welder can be requalified in accordance with QW-304.1
or
the renewal of welder performance qualification can be done on production weld. (see IX-92-47)
