My company(petrochemical) is not having a WPS.

Urgently i want to make a repair weld using GTAW(ER110S-G) on a pressure vessel(Div.2) of P 11 material(Nozzle 2 inch,thick 53mm).

I am having vessel manufacturers WPS.My question is

1) Can I use the pressure vessel manufacturers WPS for making the repair?.

2) Since Process & F no.are the only essential variable for welder qualification,Can i hire a welder & qualify him in GTAW(ER70S-2) in SA 106 Gr.B material so that he can make a repair weld on a P11 material?.

3) Is he qualified to make a repair weld on 2 inch,53 mm thick nozzle,if i qualify him in 2.5 inch,SCH XXS pipe?

Please guide me in resolving this issue?

You need to have Sect.IX and read it.
You may use any WPS, provided you accept and qualify it. You, I mean a representative or your Company, and nobody else. PQR is responsibility of the User of the supported WPS.
You may qualify a welder and hire him to work for you. NPS 2 qualifies the welder for OD 1 in (NPS 3/4) and above.
Thickness qualified is up to the double of the thickness of the weld of the test coupons. Yes he would be qualified, in your case, provided it is also in the other WPQ variables.
