UW 40 (e) pwht after all welding expect after welding repairs, as permitted by UCS-56f. The lifting lug (group 1material and not for lethal service), has been removed from its doubler pad for ease of machining, after PWHT. Could welding the lug back to the pad be classed as a repair, or will it have to be PWHT again??. for info the Lug is 16mm thick & doubler pad 13mm thick ASME SA516 GR70.

Steve,

If I read you correctly, you have a pad welded to the shell. Then you welded a lug onto this pad. Welding this lug back onto the pad would not be a pressure retaining weld, therefore no further PWHT would be needed.
