 Post subject: Welding of 316 vessel

We normally butt two beveled (both sides) 10 ga sheets together and weld interior side, grind from outside to sound metal, perform PT then weld exterior side out.

Was wondering if anyone has used this method or perhaps use a CJP with root opening procedure?
