Per SFA 5.01 FILLER METAL PROCUREMENT GUIDELINES
"By affixing the AWS specification and classification designations to the packaging, or the classification to the product, the manufacturer certifies that the product meets the requirements of that specification."

Similar language appears in each of the specific SFA specifications for our routine filler metal products.

Therefore unless there is a specific customer/contract requirement for actual certifications, then nothing more is required for certification.

Should I take this as no certs are required unless it is specified in the contract/po?

According to ASME Code, Yes.
