Dear Sirs,
I m doing WRC 297 analysis for a nozzle which is radially located on the cylindrical shell. I have used reinforcing pad of diameter 496 mm & thk 15 mm for the nozzle. Nozzle OD is 273.05 mm & thk is 15 mm. So, nozzle d/t ratio becomes 18.20 which is less than 20 (for WRC 297 d/t should be greater than 20). Shell thk (T) is 15 mm & ID is 4000 mm.
My questions are :
1) Can i use WRC 297?
2) If yes, then while determining stresses at the edge of the reinforcing pad, what should be the diameter & thickness of nozzle to determine d/t & T/t ratio?
